Shorts Kano per BJJ e MMA

Gli shorts Kano sono fatti per durare. Tessuti e cuciture scelti senza compromessi: sono praticamente indistruttibili e continuano sessione dopo sessione, gara dopo gara.

Sono anche eccezionalmente comodi: si muovono con te e ti dimentichi di averli addosso.

Non prendere una taglia in più: scegli la taglia in cui l'elastico tira leggermente, così restano su senza dover contare sulla coulisse.

HONOR THE COURAGEOUS

The right size is not the comfortable size

It is the most important piece of advice on this page, and it is the one that goes against everyone's instinct.

The temptation, when choosing shorts, is to take a generous size to feel loose. With our shorts that is the mistake to avoid.

They should be chosen in the size where the waistband pulls slightly. It must not squeeze, but it must not just rest there either: it has to do its job. The aim is for the shorts to stay in place on their own, without relying on the drawstring to keep them up. The cord is there to finish the fit, not to hold the garment.

Hanging up or in front of the mirror they will look slimmer on the leg than you are used to. On the mat that feeling disappears completely: the fabric and the panel construction only work if the garment is in its size.

If in doubt between two sizes, choose the smaller.

Panel construction

Kano shorts are built from several shaped panels, each oriented in the direction that part of the body moves. In open guard the hip stays free, the fabric follows and does not pull, and at the end of training the garment is still straight on the hips.

It is the same construction philosophy as our rashguards, applied to the lower body.

A closure that does not wear out

We chose to entrust the hold to the waistband and to the correct fit, with no Velcro.

The result is a garment with a completely clean surface: nothing to scratch your opponent's skin, nothing to catch on the kimono fabric or on other garments in the wash, and a hold that stays the same from the first use to the last.

It is also why we insist on the choice of size: it is the waistband that does the work, and to do it it must be in its size.

Shorts and IBJJF rules

For no-gi competitions the rules require synthetic fabric, no pockets and no buttons, zips or rigid parts that could injure the opponent or damage the mat. The length must not go below the knee.

Our models are made following these guidelines. As always, the check takes place at the competition and the last word rests with the officials.

Garment care

At 30 degrees, inside out, no fabric softener and no tumble dryer. Heat is the main enemy of the waistband, which is precisely the element these shorts rely on for their hold.
